In this short video, Paulette Dawes talks with MoCoLMP about her family history and urban renewal in the historic Black community of Linden/Lyttonsville, in what is now Silver Spring. This community was founded in 1853 by Samuel Litton, a free Black man. It grew to about 60 households by the 1930s.
